This internship provides an excellent platform to gain hands-on experience in Occupational Health and Safety, ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993). You’ll receive a monthly stipend of R7,450.62 while gaining practical skills and contributing to workplace safety standards.

Who Should Apply?

To be eligible, applicants must have a Three (3) year Tertiary Qualification in one of the following fields:

  • Environmental Health
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechatronics Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Chemistry
  • Construction-related Engineering
  • Occupational Health/Hygiene/Analytical Chemistry
  • Explosives Management
  • Explosives Engineering

Additionally, a valid driver’s license is required.


Key Responsibilities

As an OHS intern, your duties will include:

  • Assisting in conducting inspections to ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations.
  • Providing administrative support to inspectors.
  • Assisting in the investigation of incidents and complaints reported under the OHS Act.
  • Supporting inspectors during enforcement procedures.
  • Compiling and consolidating inspection reports.
