The YES Programme

The YES ﴾Youth Employment Service﴿ Programme is an enterprise‐led government partnership with the goal of lowering youth unemployment by giving young people the chance to acquire marketable skills and real‐world work experience that will increase their employability and, ultimately, their chances of securing stable, long‐term jobs.

Minimum Requirements YES Programme

South African youth who
• fall somewhere between the ages of 18 and 29 years old;
• possess a matriculation certificate ﴾Grade 12﴿
• are currently looking for work;
• are citizens of South Africa who were born into either the African, Colored, or Indian ethnic groups, according to the BBBEE Act’s definition of the term “black people”; and
• You must not have previously taken part in a YES Program hosted by another organization.

Eligibility and Requirements

Now, to be eligible to join the Nedbank YES Programme 2023, these points below should be in you:

  • Must be 18 to 29 years old
  • Speak and write in English reasonably well
  • Have basic computer knowledge
  • People with no previous work experience or who have not worked in the 12 months leading up to the date of application are encouraged to apply

Additionally, the minimum requirement for the qualification is:

  • Matric (Grade 12 National Senior Certificate) with Mathematics as a subject

How long will Nedbank YES youth be employed for and when will the programme start ? .

  • Young people participating in the Nedbank YES program will be given paid employment for a year in order to gain valuable work experience.
  • The YES Program is not a learnership, internship, or apprenticeship program. Rather, it is an educational opportunity.
  • The date of May 1, 2023 has been set as the starting point for the program.

Where will the Nedbank YES Programme work experience take place?

Nedbank quality work experience program will be based at Nedbank’s various sites, branches, and offices across the nation; however, some positions may allow for remote or hybrid work arrangements.
Nedbank YES youth may be required to work weekends and/or public holidays, depending on the division, role, and job requirement. Because of this, YES youth will need reliable means of transportation to get to and from work.
