Aspen SED Graduate Programme Objective

The primary goal of the SED Graduate Programme is to equip graduates with the skills necessary to contribute meaningfully to Aspen’s Social Economic Development (SED) activities. The Aspen SED Graduate Programme will allow graduates to gain hands-on experience, working directly with the Corporate Social Investment (CSI) Manager. The focus is on making impactful contributions to the communities in which Aspen operates.

Aspen SED Graduate Programme Structure and Learning Opportunities

During the 12-month graduate programme, successful candidates will undergo intensive training while gaining practical experience in SED initiatives. Below are some of the key tasks and responsibilities:

1. Payment Processing for SED Initiatives

  • Processing payments related to SED programmes and initiatives.
  • Collaborating with the finance department to ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Keeping track of expenses related to SED activities.

2. Administrative Support for SED Team

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all SED initiatives.
  • Providing administrative support to the SED team by managing files, organizing events, and preparing reports.
  • Scheduling and coordinating meetings related to SED activities.

3. Communication and Collaboration

  • Drafting and proofreading documents such as reports and presentations.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure effective coordination of SED initiatives.
  • Attending meetings, generating minutes, and distributing actionable points to relevant stakeholders.

4. Learning and Development

  • Participating in training sessions to learn the inner workings of SED and CSI departments.
  • Generating simple reports to track the progress of various SED projects.
  • Assisting in other tasks as needed, offering the opportunity to develop practical skills while learning on the job.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for the SED Graduate Programme, applicants must meet the following qualifications and possess the required skills:

1. Education

  • A Matric/Grade 12 certificate.
  • A degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, or Business/Finance.

2. Key Skills

  • Strong interest in social responsibility, community development, and/or philanthropy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, across diverse groups, including business executives and technical associates.
  • Organizational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

3. Work Environment

  • The ability to work in a team environment is essential.
  • A sense of urgency for deadline-driven tasks is required.
