How to Become a Flight Attendant (Apply Online With Matric)
1️ Register at an ATO (Aviation Training Organisation)
- There is a Cranfield Aviation Training, and you can choose any accredited aviation school near you.
2️ Swimming is a must!
- You must be able to swim, and your height should ideally be 1.6m or taller.
3️ Pass the SACAA Exam
- After your training course, you’ll write the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) exam.
- You MUST pass — no rewrites!
4️ Aircraft Type & Ratings Training
- You’ll be trained on different aircraft types and their ratings.
5️ Cabin Crew License
- Once you pass, you’ll be issued a Cabin Crew License — your ticket to the skies!
Note:
- Training in aviation never stops. Even after you’re employed, you’ll keep training to stay current and safe.
6️ Airline-Specific SOP Training
- When you join an airline, you’ll undergo training on their Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
7️ Medicals Before Admission
- Before starting at an aviation school, you must pass a medical exam by a designated aviation doctor.

- Physical fitness
