Mogale City Local Municipality invites South African youth to apply for EPWP Youth Graduate Work Programme 2025 (X55 Posts)

Internship Application Closing Date: 04 June 2025
Internship Location: Mogale City Local Municipality, Gauteng, South Africa

Mogale City Local Municipality, in collaboration with the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE), invites South African unemployed youth aged 18–35 to apply for the EPWP Youth Graduate Work Programme for 2025. The programme will run for a duration of 5 months, with a daily stipend of R247.50.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric + 3-year qualification (M + 3) in:
    Environment, Biodiversity, Conservation, Forestry, Air Quality, Landscaping & Horticulture
  • Age between 18–35 years
  • People with disabilities are encouraged to apply
  • Preference will be given to youth residing within Mogale City’s jurisdiction

Education & Awareness (5 posts)

  • Raising environmental awareness

Climate (5 posts)

  • Implementation of Climate Change programmes

Environmental Compliance Promotion (5 posts)

  • Conducting field investigations
  • Data collection to enforce regulations
  • Promoting sustainable practices

Landscaping (5 posts)

  • Develop landscaping plans and urban greening strategy
  • Design public parks, gardens, and streetscapes
  • Support sustainable and indigenous planting

Nature Conservation (5 posts)

  • Hazard identification and control
  • Data collection, reporting, and conservation contributions

  • Assist with community gardening and seasonal flower displays

Bylaw Enforcement (20 posts)

  • Monitor illegal dumping
  • Conduct waste facility inspections
  • Promote recycling and assist with enforcement of municipal bylaws
