About this Internship Programme

Internship Location: Agulhas National Park, Western Cape, South Africa
The Biodiversity Social Projects Environmental Monitor Programme at Agulhas National Park is offering 3 fixed-term EPWP opportunities ending 31 March 2026. Successful candidates will report to the Section Ranger/Ranger Sergeant and earn a stipend of R200 daily.
Minimum Requirements for this Internship
- Preference: Ages 18-35
- Grade 12/ NCV Level 4 (Std 10)
- You must be Interested in working in a nature conservation environment
- Good communication skills ·
- Be willing to work flexible hours (Including weekends/after hours)
- Medically fitness (Applicant will undergo a medical fitness exam)
- Understanding of basic Health & Safety principles
- No criminal record
- Added advantages: Computer literacy; Basic Firefighting training

What is Expected from the Successful Candidate
All successful candidates will be responsible with the following:
- Monitor and record resource management data
- Support conflict handling with contractors; provide motivation and assistance
- Waste-management reporting and internship support
- Handle in-field admin (time sheets, H&S checklists, logbooks, reports)
- Assist with tools, equipment vehicles, herbicides, stock control and asset management
- Assisting with fire management
- Fence integrity monitoring, basic maintenance and camp clearing ·Ecological monitoring, restoration, invasive alien clearing
- Participate in community and environmental awareness activities
