Learner-ships Purpose
Sasol Fire Fighter Learnership Programme is to equip participants with essential firefighting knowledge and practical skills. Learners will undergo intensive workplace readiness activities, classroom-based instruction, and hands-on fire and rescue training. Upon successful completion, participants will be competent and prepared to pursue careers as professional fire fighters.
Learnership Fields
The programme focuses on one vital discipline:
- Fire Fighting – Learners will train in fire prevention, emergency response, rescue operations, and fire suppression techniques.
Key Duties
As a learner, your role will be to:
- Participate in the learnership programme and complete all required assessments.
- Engage in workplace readiness activities and practical exercises.
- Demonstrate commitment, discipline, and a willingness to learn.

Min Requirements
To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A completed National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent, with passes in:
- Technical Mathematics / Mathematics
- English / Business English
- Technical / Physical Science
- Driver’s Licence: Code B (or higher).
- Fitness & Assessments:
- Ability to pass a fire fighter fitness test.
- Ability to pass a stress and fear assessment, including heights, confined spaces, and fire exposure.
These requirements ensure that candidates are both academically prepared and physically capable of handling the demands of firefighting.
