South African Defense Force (SANDF)
The South African Defense Force offers training through the Military Skills Development Programme annually, they usually advertise around February. There are three divisions that offers the Military Skills Development Programme. In order to gain access you need to either go through the application process through the following divisions:
1. SA Army Military Skills Development System (MSDS)
The South African Army’s mandate centres on the provisioning of combat-ready forces and the leading role it has to play in the development of the Army component of the landward defence capability. The South African Army, its member’s one in spirit, has the commanding presence and the power of a pride of lions, forever professional and ready, making a difference in serving South Africa, no matter where and under what circumstances.

2. SA Air Force Military Skills Development System
The South African Air Force is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer. The candidature of persons, whose appointment will promote representivity, will receive preference. Successful candidates will undergo full time training for two-years, during which, they will receive military and further functional training. The SA Air Force intends to capacitate the candidates to be highly skilled and disciplined military professionals and patriotic citizens.
The South African Air Force has two types of trainings one for Pilot and the other for Technical Trades.
3.SA Navy Military Skills Development System
The South African Navy’s core business is to “fight at sea” thereby protecting South Africa’s coastlines and marine resources. For this reason, the South African Navy uses ships and submarines to conduct its business and its fleet is based in Simon’s Town (Cape Town). The South African Navy has Naval Stations in Durban and Port Elizabeth. The Headquarters is situated in Pretoria.
