Avbob Insurance YES Learnerships

AVBOB Mutual Assurance Society, in partnership with the Insurance Sector Education and Training Authority (INSETA), regularly runs 12-month Long-Term Insurance Learnership Programmes aimed at unemployed South African youth.

Key Details

• Qualification Earned:

  • NQF Level 4: National Certificate in Long-Term Insurance (140 Credits), or

  • NQF Level 5: Occupational Certificate: Long-Term Insurance Adviser (180 Credits), depending on the specific intake.

• Duration: 12 Months (Fixed-term contract combining theoretical training and practical workplace experience).

• Benefits: A monthly stipend for the duration of the programme, full qualification training at no cost, and hands-on industry experience.

• Placement Areas: Placements occur across AVBOB Head Office, regional life offices, and nationwide branches (including dedicated opportunities for candidates living with disabilities).

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for an AVBOB Insurance learnership, you must meet the following criteria:

1. Age & Citizenship: South African citizen aged between 18 and 35 years.

2. Education: Valid Grade 12 / Matric certificate with passes in:

   • English

   • Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, OR Accounting

3. Employment & Study Status:

   • Must be currently unemployed.

   • Must not have previously completed a similar insurance learnership.

   • Must not be registered or studying with any tertiary/academic institution during the 12-month period.

4. Logistics & Skills: Reliable transportation to the designated branch, good communication skills, basic computer literacy, and the ability to work independently. (Having a smartphone/laptop is advantageous).
