Capitec Bank has officially opened applications for its 2027 Internship and Graduate Development Programmes, providing a major career launchpad for young, unemployed South African graduates.

The bank frames these opportunities around a “think and act like a CEO” philosophy, ensuring interns work on live projects and receive professional mentorship rather than just observing from the sidelines.

Programme Details & Benefits

  • Location: Placements are available at major corporate hubs including Stellenbosch (Western Cape), Century City (Western Cape), or Sandton (Gauteng). You must be willing to relocate if necessary.

  • Duration: Internships generally run from 12 to 24 months, while the specialized Graduate Development Programme (GDP) runs for 18 months.

  • Estimated Stipend: R8,500 – R14,000 per month (depending on the specific role and qualification level).

  • Closing Date: 15 August 2026

Capitec accepts qualifications (Advanced Diplomas, Bachelor’s Degrees, or higher) across a broad spectrum of career paths:

Minimum Requirements

To be eligible for selection, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a South African citizen with a valid 13-digit ID number.

  • Be an early-career graduate with less than two years of formal work experience.

  • Have completed an accredited tertiary qualification (NQF Level 7 or above) within the last 3 years (or be on track to complete it by the end of 2026).

  • Maintain a minimum academic average of 60%.

  • Have a clear credit and criminal record.

Step-by-Step Application Process

Capitec utilizes a strict online screening workflow. You must complete the initial assessment before your application is fully processed.

1.Prepare Your Documents:

Update your CV and gather clear copies of your SA ID, Matric certificate, and your latest official academic transcripts.

2.Take the Online Assessment:

Navigate to the Capitec Careers Portal. You will be prompted to complete a short online behavioral and cultural assessment to see how your values align with the company.

3.Submit Your Profile:

Once the assessment is complete, fill in the official online application form under the “Capitec Internship Programme 2027” or “Graduate Development Programme” listings. Upload all required supporting documents and submit before August 15, 2026.
