Job Description
SWEEPER UNDERGROUND (GRADING NG
Qualifying Criteria:
- Grade 10 or equivalent ABET Level
- Candidates must reside in the Ekurhuleni Region only
- Must be proficient in English and any other of the 11 official languages will be beneficial Must not suffer from Claustrophobia (afraid of or anxious in confined spaces)
- Ability to adapt to change in a dynamic and fast-paced environment Must be deadline-driven with the ability to work under pressure
- Must be able to work underground Applicant must possess written and verbal communication skills
- South African Citizenship Clear Criminal Record
- Must be declared medically fit by our Occupational Health Centre.
Responsibilities:
- Work a rotation of shifts underground assisting the various production teams with sweeping of ore and mud reclamation
- Must be vigilant and observant-of any unsafe conditions, material or equipment in order to ensure that company standards and procedures are adhered to at all times
- Conduct all work according to required standards, specifications and instruction.

Note
This is a sweeper position and successful candidates will be trained according to the company standards and requirements in the company’s Training Center Successful candidates will be appointed on a 6-month fixed term contract for the duration of the training period and subject to the successful completion of the above training within the prescribed period, the Company may and at the sole discretion and opinion of the Company, extend a permanent contract to sweepers if a suitable position is available, or similarly should the sweeper not be found competent at the end of his training period, the probation contract will be terminated MALL candidates will be required to consent to criminal, illegal drugs and/ or substances and background screening.
