SUBJECT: OPENING OF APPLICATION TO STUDY AT FREE STATE SCHOOL OF NURSING IN 2027
1. Approval has been granted for the Free State School of Nursing to offer the following training in 2027:
- Higher Certificate in Nursing R.169 ·
- Diploma in General Nursing R.171
- Advanced Diploma in Midwifery R.1497
2. Requirements attached. Employees must apply for study leave from their respective institutions, and provide proof of discussion by Skills Development Committee signed by the District Director.
3. ALL applicants must pay a R100 application fee, which is non-refundable, and the payment does not guarantee admission. Proof of payment must be attached to the application. Payments must be made per EFT into the following bank account. NO CASH:
4. Only applications from within the Free State will be considered.
5.All interested officials need to apply online at https://www.eservices.gov.za (Process attached). NO APPLICATIONS PER HAND OR ANY OTHER METHOD will be accepted.
6. Applications open on 15 April 2026 and class on 19 July 2026. 7. No late applications will be accepted.
8. Candidates who qualify will be invited to write a literacy test from 28 September to 02 October 2026. A confidential disability and chronic illness disclosure form will be completed on the same day for institutional support purposes only
9. Successful applicants will be informed between 13 and 27 November 2026. It will be expected from selected candidates to hand in a police clearance on the day of registration. Candidates with a criminal record without expungement from the Director General Department of Justice will not be accepted.
10. All courses will start with registration and orientation on 11 January 2027.
