Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric)
- Experience: Minimum of four years in vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repairs, specifically in trucks, forklifts, and other commercial vehicles
- Vehicle Expertise: Proven experience with Isuzu, Nissan, or Toyota vehicles will be advantageous
- Technical Knowledge: Ability to diagnose Isuzu electrical fault codes
- Licenses:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
- Skills & Attributes:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (including English)
- Computer literacy
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Capacity to work under pressure
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining Sunbake Benoni’s commercial fleet. Some of the primary duties include:
Vehicle Maintenance and Repairs
- Assisting mechanics with servicing, maintenance, and repairs of trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other mobile equipment.
- Handling general repairs and breakdowns within the fleet.
- Performing minor auto electrical work, particularly on Isuzu trucks.
- Ensuring that all job cards are accurately completed and submitted in a timely manner.
Emergency Assistance & Standby Duties
- Providing assistance with vehicle breakdowns and accident scenes when necessary.
- Performing standby duties as required, ensuring the fleet remains operational at all times.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensuring that all health and safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Maintaining a safe working environment while handling vehicle repairs and servicing.
