Minimum Requirements

Key Responsibilities
Immigration Officers will be responsible for enforcing South Africa’s immigration legislation and supporting law enforcement operations.
Duties include:
- Enforcing the Immigration Act and related legislation
- Detecting, tracing and arresting illegal foreigners
- Processing deportations
- Conducting inspections and investigations
- Participating in anti-corruption investigations
- Preparing and presenting evidence in court
- Issuing notices, fines and admissions of guilt
- Conducting interviews and investigations involving suspected illegal foreigners
- Monitoring immigration cases and records
- Assisting with detention warrant processes
- Participating in joint law enforcement operations
- Supporting prosecution of immigration offences
- Monitoring compliance with immigration permits
- Processing deportation documentation
- Maintaining departmental assets and equipment
- Participating in ongoing law enforcement training
